In the field of supramolecular chemistry, supramolecular coordination complexes are defined as large chemical entities formed by small precursors of ionic metal nodes and organic multi-dentate ligands, resulting in complex and well-defined supramolecular structures. It is well-known that coordination-driven self-assembly via spontaneous formation of metal-ligand bonds is a powerful tool in constructing supramolecular coordination complexes.Coordination driven coordination self-assembly has provided the basis for tremendous advances in the fields of sensors, catalysts, probes, containers, and basic host and guest chemistry, from the fundamental research of designing and synthesizing new structures to defining different practical applications.Tetraphenylethene(TPE)derivative is a typical type of luminous compound that possesses poor emission in a dilute solution and high emission in the aggregation of state, respectively.Compared to traditional luminous compound, this opposite phenomenon is referred to as aggregation-induced emission(AIE)and has been widely applied to construct fluorescent systems, such as optoelectronic components, sensors probes, and fluorescent materials, and so on.Accordingly,in this paper,In chapter 1,we introduce the supramolecular coordination and the future applications of tetrstyrene derivatives. In chapter 2,we synthesized a three-dimensional metal cage with tetra(4-pyridylphenyl)ethylene as the basic skeleton and palladium metal through self-assembly driven by coordination coordination. This metallacage with D4 symmetry exhibited a classical aggregation-induced emission property in different solvents, and a reversibly stimuli-responsive behaviour with chloride ion and sliver ion, successively. In chapter 3,we synthesized two metal dicycles with tetra(pyridyl-4-vinyl)tetraphenylethene as a basic skeleton and platinum drives hrough self-assembly driven by coordination coordination. The AIE-active dicycles as a kind of fluorescent materials have good emission with wide tunability on the aggregate states by changing different solvents, adjusting temperatures,or combining with other dyes(e.g.,perylene)via co-assembly process. The supramolecular complexes based on tetrstyrene pyridine derivatives and metal structures have potential applications in fluorescent materials and biological imaging.
