With the rapid development of economy and industry,PM2.5?fine particulate matters?has become a major pollutant affecting the air quality of most cities in china. On the one hand,PM2.5 can have an important impact on environmental quality, human health and climate change,on the other hand,it is particularly important for the study of public health and environmental policy. Therefore, the monitoring research of PM2.5 is of great significance. There are some defects in the temporal-spatial distribution of China's surface environmental monitoring network. As a powerful means to monitor the regional aerosol characteristics, satellite remote sensing can effectively make up for the shortcomings of ground monitoring.Usually, aerosol optical depth?AOD?retrieved from satellite remote sensing is commonly used to estimate PM2.5.In addition, for the vertical monitoring and acquisition of PM2.5,the traditional detection methods are complex and most of them are fixed-point observation.Unmanned aerial vehicles?UAVs?are gradually applied because of its low cost, strong maneuverability and other advantages. This paper focused on the issues about the estimation and monitoring of PM2.5 in typical cities of Yangtze River Delta. The temporal-spatial distribution and main influencing factors of AOD and PM2.5 concentrations in the Yangtze River Delta region were examined and analyzed based on the data from satellite remote sensing and ground monitoring.Combined with the correlation between AOD and PM2.5,the PM2.5concentration estimation models of typical cities in Yangtze River Delta were established.Besides, the meteorological factors were added into the model. The stepwise regression method, neural network method and grey incidence forecast model were used to establish the models respectively, and the estimation results were compared and verified. The application of multi-rotor UAV detection mode in PM2.5 monitoring was explored. We built the UAV atmospheric environment detection platform, which could effectively measure the PM2.5 concentrations, temperature and relative humidity below 1000m in Xianlin area of Nanjing city with high resolution.Combined the data from UAV platform with multiple data,a pollution episode in Nanjing was analysed, which intended to explore the feasibility of using UAV platform to monitor pollution process. The conclusions have certain significance in revealing the characteristics of AOD in the Yangtze River Delta region, clarifying the variation of PM2.5 in typical cities,in addition, they also provide some references for the application of multi-rotor UAV platform in acquiring the spatial characteristics of pollutants and monitoring pollution episodes.
