Based on the military requirement of protective engineering against weapon strikes,the mechanical and anti-penetration performance of steel-UHMWPE hybrid fiber reinforced concrete(HFRC)was studied in this paper.It has important theoretical and military significance for the application of this new type of HFRC in the protective engineering.In this paper,experimental study,theoretical analysis and numerical simulation were combined to carry out the research.The main work and results are as follows:(1)Research on basic mechanical properties of HFRC.The steel-UHMWPE HFRC with good working performance was obtained,with mixing ratios designed and manufacturing process improved.The split-tensile and the cubic-compression tests were carried out while the basic mechanical properties were obtained.The result shows that the hybrid fiber can further improve the tensile and compressive strength of concrete,and the reinforcement effects accord with the linear reinforcement rule of composite materials with the change of fiber volume content.UHMWPE fiber can inhibit small crack while steel fiber has the effects of anchorage,and they have certain hybrid effects.(2)Experimental research on anti-penetration performance of HFRC.The penetration test was carried out,and the anti-penetration performance of HFRC with different mixing ratios was obtained.It is found that hybrid fiber can effectively improve the anti-penetration performance of concrete,among which UHMWPE fiber plays a major role in reducing crater,and steel fiber are more effective in reducing penetration depth.The strength of concrete reinforced by hybrid fiber plays an important role in improving anti-penetration performance.Based on the reinforcement rule of hybrid fiber on concrete and Forrestal penetration empirical formula,an empirical formula for predicting the penetration depth of HFRC was obtained.(3)Research on RHT material model of HFRC.Based on the test results of static and dynamic mechanics of steel fiber reinforced concrete(SFRC),the RHT material model parameters of SFRC and their variation with compressive strength were obtained.Based on the RHT material model parameters of concrete reinforced by single steel fiber and single UHMWPE fiber,the RHT model parameters of HFRC were studied and calculated by combining hybrid reinforcement effects of two kinds of fiber on concrete strength.The accuracy of the parameters was verified by numerical simulation of typical penetration test,which laid a foundation for further analysis.(4)Numerical simulation on anti-penetration performance of HFRC.The antipenetration mechanism of HFRC was studied by numerical simulation method.It is found that hybrid fiber can improve the penetration resistance of concrete and reduce the internal damage of target effectively,leading to better anti-penetration properties.The research on the influence of concrete tensile and compressive strength shows that compressive strength can increase penetration resistance,while tensile strength can reduce internal damage.Based on the influence of hybrid fiber on the strength,the reasonable ratio of HFRC with better anti-penetration performance was obtained.
