Carbonyl sulfide?COS?is a toxic and harmful colorless gas,which usually has the smell of rotten eggs,and it is widely found in the combustion gases of various industrial waste gas.With the massive burning of fossil fuels,the content of COS in the atmosphere is continuously increased,which is oxidized to sulfur dioxide?SO2?,and finally formed acid rain and photochemical smog,consequently producing environmental pollution.On the other hand,COS also poses a serious threat to human health and industrial production.Therefore,how to capture and fix COS quickly and effectively is particularly important.An effective strategy for fast capture and fixation of COS by ethylenediamine-based polyamines?EDAs?and ethylene glycol-based polyols?EGs?were achieved at ambient conditions.The white solid substances obtained from the reaction were called COS storage materials?COSSMs?.At the same time,COSSMs were determined as thio-alkylcarbonate salts with the special chemical structures of transform infrared spectrometry?FTIR?,nuclear magnetic resonance spectroscopy(13C-NMR),X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy?XPS?,and X-ray diffraction techniques?XRD?.In order to realize the resource utilization of COSSMs,COSSMs with good water solubility were used for the first time as plant growth regulator?sulfur fertilizer?for research on activating plant growth.The results showed that COSSMs had significant effects on vegetative growth?plant height,leaf growth,average stem diameter,root?and reproductive growth?flowering,fruit number?of pepper,eggplant,tomato and cucumber four plants.On the other hand,COSSMs were used as sulfur sources to prepare nano-metal sulfides?Cd S?by hydrothermal method.By means of SEM characterization of metal sulfides,the influence of the morphology and particle size of metal sulfide under four conditions of COSSMEG concentration,metal ion concentration,reaction temperature and reaction time were studied.Thus,the optimum reaction conditions were determined.Through the XRD characterization of Cd S crystals,the three forms of pure cubic phase,mixed phase of cubic phase and hexagonal phase,and pure hexagonal phase could be prepared in the experiment.Cd S crystals were used for photocatalytic reduction of CO2,and the results showed that the yields of the products CO and CH4 were significantly higher than those in literature.In summary,in this paper,various EDAs+EGs binary mixed system were selected to realize the capture and fixation of COS,so as to obtain COSSMs.At the same time,in order to realize the resource utilization of COSSMs,it was applied to activate plant growth and prepare metal sulfides.As a result,this work displays an available method for green storage and sustainable utilization of COS.
