Oil-based drilling cuttings are solid waste produced in the process of oil and gas field exploitation.,mainly including oil sludge and oil sands.The oil-based drilling cuttings are mainly treated by thermal desorption?also called pyrolysis?to recover the base oil in the oil-based drilling cuttings.The residue of oil based drilling cuttings is mainly solidified landfills and concentrated temporary storage,which is a solid waste that cannot be ignored.Therefore,how to effectively utilize these residues comprehensively is of great significance to further improve the resource utilization of drilling waste.In this paper,the non-burning fracturing proppant were prepared by using oil based drilling cuttings and curing agents as the main raw materials,and using ball mill,stainless steel variable speed ball forming machine,constant temperature and humidity curing box as the main equipment.The selection of raw materials,formulation,preparation process and mechanism were deeply studied and discussed.Furthermore,the performances of the burnt-free fracturing proppant are tested comprehensively.The experimental results show that 40-60%oil-based drill cutting residue and40-60%self-made curing agent were pulverized in a ball mill,then uniformly stirred in a blender,and then added to the ball-making machine with 5?10%water is rolled into a ball,naturally dried for 24h,sieved by a vibrating screen,and finally cured in a constant temperature and humidity curing box?temperature 20°C,humidity 95%?for 28 days,the non-burning fracturing proppant can reach SY/T5108-2014"Standard requirements for performance testing methods for proppants for hydraulic fracturing and gravel packing operations".At the same time,the granulation mechanism and strength formation mechanism of the non-burning fracturing proppant were studied by means of scanning electron microscopy and X-ray diffractometric.The results show that the m?Si O2?:m?Ca O?:m?Al2O3?=3:1:1.5,the prepared of fracturing proppant has the highest yield and strength.
