In recent years,the widespread use and discharge of antibiotics have made it a new type of environmental pollutant.Because of its continuous use and emission characteristics,it can produce long-term exposure to environmental organisms across generations.However,the multi-generation toxicity of antibiotics and mixtures toxicity of abtibiotics is not clear yet,so the relevant mechanism of developing physical and chemical properties and toxicity of the substance with generations is still a key scientific problem to be solved urgently.In this study,sulfamethoxazole(SMZ),erythromycin(ERY)and their mixtures were used as representatives of environmental antibiotics,and Caenorhabditis elegans as the test organism,study the multigenerational effects of SMZ,ERY and their mixtures on Caenorhabditis elegans on lifespan,reproduction and fat metabolism.Multi-generation includes four consecutive exposed generations(F0-F3),non-exposed progeny generations of F0(T1-T3),non-exposed progeny generations of F3(T1'-T3').The research results are as follows:(1)In the four consecutive exposed generations(F0-F3generation),the lifespan toxicity of ERY was decreased with the increase of generations.The lifespan of T3 and T3 ' generation nematodes was inhibited.SMZ shortened the lifespan of four consecutive exposed generations of namatodes.However,low concentrations of SMZ slightly extended the lifespan of T3 and T3 'generations nematodes,and had no effect at the remaining three concentrations.(2)The effect of ERY on the reproduction of four consecutive exposed generations of F0-F3 of nametodes was similar to the lifespan.The reproduction toxicity of F0-F3 generation nematodes of SMZ was decreased first and then increased with the increase of generations.About non-exposed generation,ERY inhibit the reproduction of T3 and T3 'generation nematodes.SMZ had a slight stimulating effect on the T3 generation at two low concentrations,and showed an inhibitory effect at high concentrations.SMZ inhibit the reproduction of T3 ' generation nematodes.(3)Low concentration of ERY can inhibit the synthesis of F0 generation nematodes fat and accelerate the decomposition of fat.At the same time,ERY will accelerate the synthesis of F3 generation nematodes fat and inhibit the decomposition of fat,causes body fat accumulation.(4)SMZ will inhibit F0-F3 generation nematodes fat synthesis,and accelerate the decomposition of fat and reduce body fat content.The high concentration of SMZ will completely deprive the exposed generation of T3 nematode fat content.The results of the T3 'generation study show that high concentration of SMZ increases T3' fat content,and low concentration of SMZ has no effect on body fat content.(5)In the four generations F0-F3 of the mixture to nematodes,the lifespan inhibition of Mix1,Mix3 and Mix4 was similar,the lifespan shortened with the increase of generations.The result of Mix2 shows that after this concentration mixed,the lifespan toxicity is the lowest.In the continuous exposure generation of Mix5,the lifespan toxicity decreased first and then increased with the increase of generations,and was the highest toxicity among the five mixtures.(6)In the non-exposed generation T3,Mix1,Mix3,and Mix5 can shorten the lifespan of the T3 generation nematodes,and the Mix2 and Mix4 can slightly extend the lifespan of the T3 generation nematodes.Mix1,Mix2 and Mix5 have no significant effect on the lifespan of T3 'generation nematodes.Mix3 and Mix5 will shorten the lifespan of T3 'generation nematodes.
