With the increasing shortage of international energy and the increasing dependence of economy on energy,it is imperative to develop the alternative energy of oil.Abundant oil shale resources are the most potential alternative energy. The retorting reaction of oil shale is quite complex, and the optimal conditions of process operation need to be explored to maximize energy utilization.ATP process has advantages in four aspects, such as rate of application, overall efficiency, oil and gas production rate and product quality, and the process makes up the blank of small shale retorting process in China.Based on the above reasons, this paper takes ATP retortng process as the research object.Firstly, the chemical process simulation software Aspen Plus is used to model and simulate ATP-type oil shale dry distillation system. The physical parameters in the Aspen Plus software and model are derived from oil shale samples from the Huadian mine in Jilin province. The simulation results are compared with the actual industrial production data. The results show that the simulation results are basically consistent with the actual industrial production results and can accurately represent the running state of the actual production process.Exergy elaborated exergy to the traditional exergy analysis of oil shale retorting according to the logistics results and thermodynamic parameters obtained by simulation. Results showed that overall exergy efficiency of ATP oil shale retorting was lower, only 45.67 %.Exergic loss of the biggest sub-unit is that of semi-coke combustion unit(109.69 MJ),which accounts for 31.13% of overall exergic loss of the overall system. The following can improve the efficiency of the processBased on the traditional life cycle evaluation theory, the theoretical framework of life cycle evaluation is constructed. In order to evaluate the degree of environmental impact, seven pollutants closely related to human beings and three environmental impact indicators, greenhouse effect, photochemical pollution and acidification, were selected. This theoretical framework is used to evaluate the energy consumption and environmental impact of the whole life cycle of oil shale distillation process. The overall influence of ATP retorting process is similar to that of oil exploitation. The results show that the environmental emission of oil shale during oil shale transportation stage is the lowest, while that of shale oil production stage is the highest. The latent value of greenhouse effect is about 1.6 times that of petroleum, the latent value of light pollution is about 0.3 times that of petroleum, and the difference of acidification is about 4 times that of petroleum. Finally, some Suggestions are put forward to improve energy efficiency and reduce energy consumption of oil shale industry.
