The storage tank is the most important equipment for petroleum reserve.In order to prevent the potential safety hazard caused by the sedimentation of the storage tank to the piping system,pipe stress analysis and flexible design should be carried out for the external piping system of the storage tank,so as to make the piping system connected to the storage tank have enough flexibility and meet the nozzle allowable load requirements of the storage tank.It is meaningful to analyze pipe stress for the piping system in the storage tank area.In the paper,CAESAR ? software is applied to analyze the pipe stress and flexible design for the inlet piping system in the storage tank area of central processing facilities of an overseas oilfield.The establishment of the pipe stress analysis model and calculation results reach the profundity of detail design of petrochemical engineering project and meet the requirements of ASME B31.3.In the process of model building,CAESAR ? is applied to do comparative analysis for the mechanical modeling of universal type with the rods expansion joint.The tank model is established with ANSYS software,and the deformation and displacement data of the tank wall at the inlet nozzle of the tank under the condition of uneven foundation settlement are calculated to re-check the boundary conditions of inlet piping system mechanical model in tank area.At the same time,considering the influence of medium parameters such as relative density and liquid level,the parameter sensitivity analysis of tank wall deformation and tank nozzle displacement is carried out.CAESAR ? software is applied to analyze the influence on tank nozzle loads and pipe stress from the perspective of expansion joint,pipe wall thickness,pipe material,pipe structure form and pipe support.The selection principle of engineering design parameters is obtained,which is helpful to reduce the stress level of piping system,increase the pipe flexibility and protect nozzle of storage tank and valuable to engineering design.
