The long period steady operation of pyrolysis fractionator is the guarantee for smoothly running of the Ethylene Plant.This paper analyzes the hazards and causes of the continuous increase of tower pressure difference during the operation of pyrolysis fractionator,then research and analyzes the tower pressure difference of pyrolysis fractionator according to the operation conditions and treatment measures of pyrolysis fractionator of similar plant in China.Two effective method are put forward to stabilize or reduce the whole tower pressure difference of pyrolysis fractionator.Frist is to inject polymerization inhibitor to stabilize the tower pressure difference during the operation of the pyrolysis fractionator.Second is to reform the packing support of bulk packing section with serious coking in the tower during the maintenance window of the plant,to increase the circulation area under the condition of ensuring the support strength.In addition,the methods of process adjustment and periodic replacement of bulk packing are proposed.By putting the above methods into effect,the problem that the pressure difference of quench tower is rising during operation is fundamentally solved to ensure the long period operation of the pant.
