Study On Application Of Stained Glass Of Gothic Church In Fashion Design

Amid the ever-changing fashion trends in the garment industry,the flamboyant,complicated and courtly gothic style has always been favored by fashion designers.The art of stained glass,which originally belongs to the branch of architectural art,has gradually come into people's vision with time.In medieval Europe,where the art of stained glass originated,it was often used to decorate churches,palaces and other buildings belonging to the privileged class.With its gorgeous colors,religious patterns,unique historical accumulation and spiritual connotation,stained glass art has not only become the decorative appendage of gothic church buildings in the middle ages,but also successfully formed an independent art category,which has been continuously influencing the art design style of later generations.Stained glass art is a vigorous art,in the long process of development and evolution,stained glass art has gradually entered our daily life,such as architecture,graphic design products and even handicrafts.Bright color,unique pattern,translucent material and the craft of joining together to create the unique aesthetic feeling of stained glass.However,for the vast majority of people,the understanding and understanding of stained glass is superficial and less related to the depth of clothing design.Therefore,this paper defines the object of study as the stained-glass window decorated in gothic church,and analyzes its evolution process and form by exploring its historical origin and development.In the second chapter,the author first summarizes the aesthetic characteristics of the gothic church stained glass art in the above four aspects from the perspectives of color,shape,quality and craft,and then focuses on the four aspects as the focus of the following research and analysis.Then,through actual cases,this paper analyzes the influence of stained glass on modern architecture,products,plane and other art design fields,explores the combination and common points of stained glass art and modern aesthetic law,and summarizes the innovative application law of stained glass art in design and creation under the background of the new era.In the fourth chapter,the author analyzes the successful cases of the combination of stained glass and costume design in gothic churches in the past,synthesizes the experience of predecessors and summarizes the practical operation methods of the combination of stained glass art and costume design.In the fifth chapter on the design practice in this paper,we summarized the artistic characteristics of coloured drawing or pattern glass itself,the application in the field of other art forms,in the field of fashion design experience summed up in three aspects: the application to the garment design practice,tries to find the gothic church stained glass in colour,design,material,process four aspects can bring fashion design inspiration and enlightenment,for others to follow in order to provide new ideas and help of application in the both fields.
