As the basic components of the electrical and electronic industries, dielectric materials attract a lot attention of scholars in many fields.Dielectric materials with phase transition are considered to be as a kind of responsive dielectric material in which dielectric constant can be switched between high-and low-dielectric states under the stimulation of external conditions?such as electricity, magnetic, optical, thermal etc.?.The excellent features making them attractive for temperature sensing, data storage, mechanical actuation, and energy harvesting. It is an urgent task to explore a new system of molecular-based responsive dielectric because of limited number and types. This paper is divided into the following three parts:The first part contains four molecular-based compounds based on the benzene ring-containing diamine which are:[C7N2H10][CdCl3]?compound1?,[C7N2H10][MnCl3]?compound 2?,[C7N2H10]2[CoCl4]?compound 3?and[C8N2H14]2[CdCl6]?compound 4?.The second part contains four molecular-based compounds based on the chain-type fattydiaminewhichare:[C5H16N2]4[Cd3Cl12][Cl]2[H2O]2?compound5?,[C7N2H20]3[MnCl3]2[MnCl4]2?compound 6?,[C7N2H20]3[CdCl3]2[CdCl4]2?compound 7?,[C7N2H20][SbCl5]?compound 8?.In the third part, there are four molecular-based compounds based on nitrogen-containing heterocyclic diamine and 2-chloro-N,N,N-trimethylethylamine chloride, respectively, which are[C7H14N2FCl][BF4]2?compound 9?,[C13N2H28]2[ZnCl4]2[H2O]3?compound10?,[C13N2H28]4[CdBr4]4[C2H5OH]2[H2O]3?compound 11?,[?CH3?3N?CH2?2Cl]2[ZnCl4]?compound12?.The properties of 12 substances, such as infrared spectroscopy?IR?,powder diffraction?PXRD?,single crystal diffraction, dielectric properties, etc, were measured. The relationship between dielectric constant/DSC and temperature further analyzes the potential for a phase transition.Among them, the dielectrics of compounds 9 and 12 showed reversible heterogeneous peaks during changing temperature, and their DSC curves showed obvious and reversible exothermic-endothermic peaks, confirming the reversible phase transition of compounds 9 and 12.Other compounds did not exhibit significant dielectric anomalies over the measurable temperature range, which were not what we want presumably.
