| With the generation and going down of atmospheric pollution,people have fully realized the harm of marine diesel engine exhaust to the atmospheric environment and human health.IMO and the competent authorities of many countries have formulated stringent emission standards for marine diesel engines,which are applied in tiers,in order to strengthen the emission control of marine diesel engines.In particular,IMO proposed the requirement of Tier ? for nitrogen oxides(NO_X)emission from marine diesel engines.The Tier ? requirement for NO_X reducing,which has been in effect in North America and the American Caribbean Sea and is scheduled to enter into force in the Baltic and North Seas in 2021,is under discussion by some coastal countries.For the requirement of NO_X control from marine diesel engine,the marine industry needs to study the characteristics of marine engine,optimize the design of marine diesel engine,and create after-treatment device to reduce the NO_X from marine engine.Aiming to make marine diesel engine fully meet the IMO requirements for NO_X control emission,this paper mainly studies the reducing technology and certification of NO_X emission from marine diesel engine.Firstly,through the study of the generation mechanism of NO_X in diesel engine and the factors affecting the generation of NO_X,this paper provides solutions for the research and development of NO_X emission control measures and engine emission certification.Secondly,this paper makes a thorough study and comparison of NO_X emission control technologies.Based on the characteristics on vessel structure space and navigation area,it puts forward the special requirements for marine diesel engine in exhaust after-treatment device,and puts forward an economical and effective method to make marine diesel engine emissions meet requirement of Tier ? on NO_X emission.First,through the comprehensive application of various In-engine purification technologies,marine diesel engines can meet the requirements of IMO Tier ? emission requirement and keep the testing and certification for diesel engine as usual;second,on the basis of satisfying IMO Tier ? emission requirement,marine diesel engines are equipped with exhaust after-treatment device which is put in use to meet the emission requirements of IMO Tier ? once entering the NOx Emission Control Area(NECA).These solutions for the marine industry references.Finally,in order to effectively certify that marine diesel engines to be sailed in NO_X ECA comply with the requirements of Tier ?,this paper focuses on the IMO regulations on diesel engine emission testing,summarizes the experience in marine diesel engine emission inspection and certification.Finally,this paper puts up the procedures for emission inspection and flowline for certification of the Tier ? marine engine,which will provide guidance for the future emission certification of Tier ? marine diesel engine. |
