Starch-based films have several disadvantages such as brittleness,high sensitivity to moisture and poor mechanical strength,especially to their elongation at break.Therefore,starch-based films have poor moisture resistance and stretchability,which limits their use in food packaging.In this paper,starch octenyl succinate(OSS)was prepared from starch,and octenyl succinate starch and tapioca starch were used as film-forming substrates to form a film.Then,a hydrophobic modifier was added to the film-forming liquid.Methyltrimethoxysilane(MTMS),hexadecyltrimethoxysilane(HDTMS)and nano-silica improve the flexibility and surface roughness of starch film while enhancing the hydrophobicity of starch film.Elongation at break,after which methyltrimethoxysilane(MTMS),hexadecyltrimethoxysilane(HDTMS)and nano-silica are blended with anhydrous ethanol as an organic solvent,and the resulting blended solution is used as The surface coating of the tapioca starch film gives the starch film excellent surface hydrophobicity.This paper providesa theoretical basis for the further modification of starch and the application of hydrophobic silanes and nano-silica in tapioca starch film.In this paper,in the study of the effect of cassava starch octenyl succinic acidification on the properties of the obtained stretchable starch film,the obtained octenyl succinate starch(OSS)/ natural tapioca starch(NS)blend film was prepared for ductility and moisture resistance.The properties are improved,wherein the degree of substitution(DS)is 0.01930 of octenyl succinate starch(OSS),and the film prepared by blending with natural tapioca starch(NS)has the water absorption and water vapor permeability compared with the original cassava.The starch film decreased by 26.60 % and 28.70 %,respectively,and the contact angle and elongation at break increased by 33.00 % and 30.00 %,respectively.Adding methyltrimethoxysilane(MTMS),hexadecyltrimethoxysilane(HDTMS)and silica nanoparticles to the film forming solution of the octenyl succinate/cassava starch mixed film to obtain the obtained starch film In the effect study of the performance,the prepared blend film was compared with the octenyl succinate starch(OSS)/natural tapioca starch(NS)film,and the elongation at break increased by 155.40%,and the water vapor permeability decreased by 33.25%.The water absorption is reduced by 37.20%,the contact angle is increased by 22.37%,and the surface roughness,flexibility and moisture resistance of the film are improved.Finally,methyltrimethoxysilane(MTMS)and hexadecyltrimethoxysilane(HDTMS)are used as hydrophobicmodifiers,and anhydrous ethanol is used as an organic solvent to blend with nano-silica,and then obtained by one-step method.The mixed solution was applied to the tapioca starch film to obtain a tapioca starch film having an excellent hydrophobic surface with a contact angle of 130.6°.
