In this work,one amide ligand N,N?-bis?4-methylpyridin-4-yl?-1,4-naphthalenediamide?L?was selected as the main ligand,NiIII and CuIII metal ions with electrochemically active and different polycarboxylates auxiliary ligands[2-nitrobenzoic acid?2-HNBA?,p-nitrobenzoic acid?HPNB?,p-toluic acid?HPTA?,phthalic acid?1,2-H2BDC?,pimelic acid?H2PIM?,5-methylisophthalic acid?5-H2MIP?,1,3-Phenylenediacetic acid?H2PDA?,o-anisic acid?HOMSA?,malonic acid?H2PRO?and azelaic acid?H2AZE?]have been used to construct coordination polymers under hydrothermal conditions,and 12 target crystals were obtained:[Ni?L?2?2-NBA?2]?1?,[Ni?L??PNB?2?H2O?2]?2?,[Ni?L??PTA?2?H2O?2]?3?,[Ni?L??1,2-HBDC??OH??H2O?2]?H2O?4?,[Ni2?L?2?HPIM?2]?H2O?5?,[Ni4?L?4?MIP?4?H2O?2]?2H2O?6?,[Ni2?L?2?PDA?2]?H2O?7?,[Cu?L??OMSA?2?H2O?]?8?,[Cu?L??PNB?2]?9?,[Cu?L??PRO??H2O?]?3H2O?10?,[Cu?L??AZE??H2O?]?11?,[Cu?L??MIP?]?H2O?12?.Twelve new complexes were structurally characterized using single-crystal X-ray diffraction analyses,powder X-ray diffraction?PXRD?and IR spectra.1,5and 7 exhibit the same 4-connected 2D networks{44·62}.2,3 and 4 show the same 1D linear structures linked by ligands.The ligands of 2 are connected in a racemic manner.The ligands of 3 are linked in an alternating plane up and down manner.The ligands of 4 link metal ions in the same direction.6 shows a 4-connected 3D topological framework{6·74·10}{64·7·8}.8,9 and 10 are1D chain structures having different angles.11 is a 2D 4-connected{44·62}structure.12 is a 3D 6-connected{412·63}structure.The twist degrees of the amide ligands and the coordination modes of the carboxylic acid auxiliary ligands have important effects on the structures and properties of the target complexes.The electrochemical sensing properties of the complexes for NO2–and ascorbic acid were mainly explored.
