As a unique cultural form,school uniforms reflect the humanism and spirit of a school,and even reflect the degree of civilization of education and economic and cultural development in a region or a country.School uniform is a kind of uniform deriving from the values of democracy and equality,which can not only help students shape a healthy aesthetic,but also play an important role in promoting their selfawareness and sense of group honor.Since the 1950 s,the school uniform style in our country has been changed for several times,however,the latest school uniforms are totally inaesthetic,making students look fat,feel cold in winter and hot in summer,as a result,the significance of the school uniform itself cannot be fully highlighted.In particular,the education value that school uniforms should play as an important part of campus culture is out of sight with so much condemnation from society,teachers and parents.It has become a consensus in Chinese society how to reshape the image of school uniform,raise people’s awareness of the cultural attribute of school uniforms,explore its education value,and perfect the aesthetic education objective of talent training.Therefore,taking "school uniform culture" as the research content and the "education value" as the research object,this thesis is based on professional advantage and the design practice of school uniforms to explore the education value of school uniform culture,and reveal the practical path in which the education objective can be achieved by virtue of design.First of all,this thesis expounded the research background,research status and existing problems and adopted the market survey and document analysis method to elaborate the concept and characteristics of school uniforms from the perspective of the educational function of school uniform culture,on the basis of data collection and arrangement,comparison and summary.Then,after sorting out and analyzing the material attribute,spiritual attribute and behavioral attribute described in school uniform culture,this thesis carried out a study on the functional attributes of school uniforms such as practical function,aesthetic function,identification function and education function.Integrated with practical projects in design practices,it provides a new concept for the heritage and development of school uniform culture.Afterwards,having mastered the psychological characteristics of the students and analyzed the culture,style,color and fabric of the school uniforms,this thesis summarized the educational value as well as design concept and positioning of the school uniforms,based on the school uniform design project for the affiliated primary school of Normal University.By virtue of color matching,style modeling and exquisite fabrics,the design takes "youth","beauty" and "culture" as the starting point and the Chinese traditional culture and the structure of Han Chinese clothing culture as the main line to complete the design concept,structural design,effect design and paper pattern design of its school uniform are realized,and the design practice of students’ school uniform is carried out.Through the above research,this thesis vividly displays the design method with which school uniform culture can play its education role,and supports the core view of the education role of school uniform culture.Designing the school uniforms with Chinese cultural characteristics and education value is a kind of exploration of another design form of school uniform culture,which is beneficial to cultivating students ’national self-confidence and patriotism,and reinterpreting the new understanding of school uniform culture.
