Study On Preparation And Properties Of PC/ABS Alloy

In recent years,PC / ABS alloy not only combines the excellent mechanical properties,heat resistance and high toughness of PC,but also combines the advantages of good fluidity and processability of ABS,it is widely used in automobile internal parts,various industrial machines,communication equipment shell,household appliances and lighting equipment,etc..Because PC and ABS have different melting point,different crystallization temperature and different melting fluidity,they belong to the thermodynamic incompatible system,the compatibility between them is the key to prepare PC / ABS alloy with excellent properties.In this paper,the compatibility mechanism of PC and ABS was analyzed,and the suitable ratio of Pc to ABS was fixed at 7:3.The compatibility of PC and ABS was studied by using compatibilizer,ABS-g-MAH,SMA and core-shell copolymer MBS,the compatibility of PC and ABS is improved obviously by adding MBS compatibilizer,the appearance of the material is improved obviously,and the effect of delamination is decreased obviously,the mechanical properties were also improved,the notched impact strength and the elongation at break were increased by 146.8% and 159.3% respectively.Then MBS was used as compatibilizer and MBS was modified by toughening agent,rubber powder,TPU and Elastomer EEA were used to toughen the material,the notched impact strength and the elongation at break of the component without toughening agent reached 48.6 KJ / m2 and 125.6% respectively.According to the above research,MBS and EEA were selected as the best toughening compatible components to modify PC / ABS Alloy,in this paper,KT-31,a compatible toughening agent from Shenyang Ketong Plastic Co.,Ltd.,is used to prepare toughening alloy.KT-31 is made of MBS and EEA by special process,the results show that the comprehensive mechanical properties are the best when the addition of KT-31 is 7 PHR,the Melt Index is 13.5 G / 10 Min,the tensile strength is 52 MPA,the flexural strength is 77 MPA,the notched impact strength and elongation at break reached the maximum of 56.5 KJ / M2 and 135.6%,respectively.At last,according to the actual demand of PC / ABS,the reinforced PC / ABS Alloy was prepared,KT-2 was chosen as compatibilizer,and 20% glass fiber was added to change the ratio of PC and ABS alloy.After the performance contrast test,when the ratio of PC to ABS is 6:4,the reinforced alloy has the best performance and is more suitable for practical application.
