In recent years, the rise of online-shopping has led to a sharp increase in the number of express delivery.A large amount of packaging waste poses a threat to the sustainability of the ecological environment, and its recycling and reuse are also facing great challenges. As one of the important components of express packaging, the corrugated cartons have many defects such as high impurity content, difficult secondary recycling, low recycling efficiency, and high costs. Therefore,it has become a research hotspot for domestic and overseas scholars to explore an efficient and environmentally friendly method for recycling corrugated boxes. At the same time, the large-scale discharge of printing and dyeing wastewater has a serious impact on people’s daily life and health. The methylene blue(MB)is very representative in dyes,so it can be used as a pollutant model in adsorption experiments.Compared with traditional precipitation and filtration methods, the content of pollutants in wastewater after treatment with adsorption methods is significantly reduced. Therefore, the development of new porous carbon materials and the study of their adsorption properties also have high economic value and practical significance. Finally, this paper uses waste corrugated cartons as biomass raw materials.A variety of bio-carbon materials are prepared by changing the types of activator(ZnCl2,H3PO4,KOH,NaOH/KOH,K2CO3),the amount of activator, and carbonization temperature. And it was characterized by Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy(FT-IR),X-ray diffraction(XRD),scanning electron microscopy(SEM),elemental analysis(CHNS),thermo-gravimetric analysis(TG),and specific surface area(BET).Subsequently, the best-performing porous carbon material was used as an adsorbent, and its adsorption effect on methylene blue(MB)at different dosages, times, and temperatures was investigated to obtain the optimal adsorption parameters. The research contents are as follows:(1)Waste corrugated carbons were used as carbon sources, and activated and carbonized with zinc chloride(ZnCl2),phosphoric acid(H3PO4),potassium hydroxide(KOH),sodium hydroxide/potassium hydroxide(NaOH/KOH),and potassium carbonate(K2CO3)to prepared porous carbon materials.Nitrogen adsorption and desorption experiments were performed on the samples. The corresponding specific surface area and pore volume were calculated by BET and t-plot methods.Combining the isothermal adsorption lines and scanning electron microscopy of each porous carbon material,we can observe the change of micro-morphology before and after the activation of waste corrugated fiber. The addition of activator has an effect on the crystallinity, element content, surface functional groups, etc.of the prepared biochar. From the perspective of thermo-gravimetric analysis, the change of the type of activator led to different pore formation mechanisms in the sample. In addition, when the activator is constant, some conditions such as carbonization temperature and impregnation ratio also have a greater impact on the adsorption performance and chemical structure of the final product.Comprehensive the above characterization,in activator for ZnCl2,carbonization temperature of 700℃,activator and raw material impregnated than for 4 and activator for NaOH/KOH,carbonization temperature of 900℃,activator with raw material under the impregnation ratio 2.5 of specific surface area of the porous carbon materials was the biggest, respectively is 1600.050 m2/g and 1493.303 m2/g.On this basis we further discusses its adsorption of methylene blue solution.(2)Using waste corrugated fiber as the raw material, the corresponding porous carbon material is prepared under the optimal preparation process, which be used for the adsorption of methylene blue solution. The effects of the amount of porous carbon, adsorption temperature, and adsorption time on the adsorption performance of methylene blue were explored in the experiment. The results show that the prepared sample has good adsorption capacity for methylene blue solution.Among them, the optimal adsorption conditions can be obtained as follows:the amount of porous carbon material is 100 mg(mass concentration 0.667 g/L),the adsorption temperature is 298K,and the adsorption time is 360 min,and the maximum adsorption capacity under these conditions was 180.8566 mg/g.
