The Classic of mountains and Seas is an important book of the pre-Qin dynasty which compiled by the people in Han dynasty.It is also the oldest geography books in China with numerous myths and legends.The bird images of The Classic of mountains and Seas in this paper means every image which is made of one or more avian organs.And it takes up a large number of image in this book.These images referent the ancient people’s idea,culture,national belief and so on.To explore the bird image in The Classic of mountains and Seas can help us to understand ancient culture,human aesthetic interest and ideology.In this paper,I have use the archaeological typology research methods,field survey method,and historical research methods etc.ways to analysis the collection.To the adoption of the above theoretical creation and taking the design test of the bird image,I can investigate the feasibility with the Design of the Creative costume design of the bird image of The Classic of Mountains and Rivers.Thorough the collation of literature materials,after having a clear understanding of which the image of birds in the creative clothing design of the application of research.The study is divided into three parts.To the begin with,classify the bird image by appearance.There are four image-regular bird image,misplaced organ of bird image,multiple organs of bird image and Disabled bird image.After that,in order to analyze the image using the method of archaeological typology to further feature extraction from the artifacts.Then,classifying the bird image as a window in to the inherent meaning of them.In the next step,I give some example to show the design approach of image in creative clothing to prove that the bird image in The Classic of Mountains and Rivers will make clothing more fashion and art.In the step of design practice,I have four service solution: by depiction to the object,reduction,abstract method and collage.Finally,based on the theme I have make a collection named “Racing extinction” to transform the bird images of The Classic of mountains and Seas.Based on the research above,for theoretical,this paper has give two kinds of classification of The bird images of The Classic of mountains and Seas.On the other hand,the practice had devised more creative fashion collection.And it really to help draw attention to designer for better designs.
