To ensure traffic safety depends not only on the driver skilled driving technology, psychological quality also plays a very important role.Hazard Perception Test was regarded as a necessary link of the driving test in many foreign countries. This test can pick out those candidates who were lack the ability to predict the potential danger in the traffic environment.Hazard perception, refers to drivers’ ability of identification, prediction and reaction of the “risk” in the traffic environment,it is usually measured by reaction time.A large number of studies show that, the relationship between drivers’ hazard perception ability and traffic accident is very close. In this study, according to classical method of hazard perception in the foreign countries and combined with the real situation and the characteristics of accidents, this research used the vehicle traveling data recorder to video and edit many traffic scene videos as the test material. It also used eye movement technique to analyze the 15 novice drivers’ and 10 experienced drivers’ eye movement data, and discussed the influence of danger’s directions and driving experience on the drivers’ hazard perception under the complex road condition and simple road condition. The specific conclusions of this study are as follows:(1)The reaction time and the first fixation duration of novice drivers were slower than the experienced drivers, and the fixation count and visit count of novice drivers were less than the experienced drivers under two kinds of road conditions.(2)The drivers’ reaction time and the first fixation duration to the left danger were faster than the right danger, and their fixation count and visit count to the left danger were more than right danger under two kinds of road conditions.(3)Driving experience can predict the drivers’ hazard perception ability, but age and gender can not.
