With the continuous development of China’s economy and science technology,people pay more attention to higher education,therefore,higher education began to change and puts forward the new concept and connotation.The new educational content is no longer confined to the classroom,but extended to the entire campus space,resulting in demanding for a higher level of campus space environment.The positive space in university building as an important part of the space environment on campus,play an important role in forming the personality and quality of college students,its present condition is also received increasing attention.However,the current rapid development of the campus although greatly improved the university area but ignores to create its spirit of place,resulting in the loss of its attractiveness,can not playing its proper role of education.Therefore,how to build positive space in university become an urgent issue to architect.Based on the theory of phenomenology,this paper build the positive space in college from two aspects of space and atmosphere,in order to enhance students’ sense of identity and belonging on campus environment,creating a vibrant campus place.There are five chapters in this paper,and the fourth chapter is the key.The conclusion is the summary of the results.Chapter I:Introduction.This chapter describes the research background and research status,then determine the active space in college buildings as the research object and describe the purpose and significance of the study.Chapter 2:Research on phenomenology.Describe the contents of the two branches of Phenomenology and summary the relationship between phenomenology and architecture.Chapter 3:Research on positive space in college buildings.By studying the associated space,summed up the definition of "active space",and finally came out with the connotation of "positive space in college buildings ",then discussing the composition and characteristic of positive space in college buildings.Chapter 4:This section is a research on analysis and design methods for positive space in college buildings based on phenomenology,as a focal point in the text.Based on phenomenology,build positive space in college buildings from two aspects,one is place creation and the other is perception creation,and using it in nodes of positive space in college buildings.Chapter5:research and analysis of actual case.Research the positive space in comprehensive teaching building in Hunan University based on the last method,combining theory with practice,to further improve the design theory of positive space in college buildings.
