In conditions of the mountains special conditions,vehicles traveled with the low speed and slow and brake frequently in thelongitudinal sections.In addition by overloading and slow speed and continuous high temperature,different kind of diseases for instance rutting,pavement surface distress,cutting-slippage and anti skid performance degradation appeared in the road.It has extremely bad influence to the traffic safety and service level of highway in mountainous area.So the decision to optimize the continuous longitudinal slope layer is extremely urgent.This paper based on the En-Qian highway construction project,conducted the study on optimization of the continuous longitudinal slope layer structural combination.At firsr,discovered the course of disease investigation to the Yi'en sections of Hurongxi express highway which was similar to continuous longitudinal slope of En-Qian highway,combined with the collection of the historical road test data and comprehensive analysised rutting,cracking and anti-slide performance in different layer structural combination section.Then based on the structure dynamic stability inYi'en sections of Hurongxi express highway through laboratory test,ourstudying team proposed optimization approaches to continuous longitudinal slope of En-Qian highway and selected the mountainous mineral resources metamorphic quartz sandstone as the coarse aggregate of the anti skid performance layer on the consideration of local materials principle.Then we proposed the whole thickness type rutting test under the conditions of the simulated temperature field to the different layer structural combination and compared the test result to the structure dynamic stability in Yi'en sections of Hurongxi express highway.In this way,we could selected the layer structural combination which had better rutting resistance and meanwhile we proposed further study to the anti slide performance,other mechanical performance and economy.At last,through comprehensive analysized of test results,we provided the advice that metamorphic quartz sandstone was unsuitable for the continuous longitudinal slope of En-Qian highway but it could be used in other highway section.
