The so-called switched-mode power supply is a technology which PWM and other con-trol technologies are employed to set power electronics regularly on and off on a regular basis so as to convert electrical energy.With the rapid advances in technologies related to power electronics,and the frequent emergence of new power electronic devices,the development of switched-mode power supply technology is on the quick track,for the moment,towards high-frequency,modularization,and lightness,to gradually replace mining rectifiers with its high performance,high efficiency,and high reliability,which makes it a power mode indispensable to the rapid development of the mining industry today.The study herein proceeds from the following aspects:It begins with an analysis of the working principle of the magnetic separator to propose a new type of excitation power,identifies a high-power high-frequency switched-mode power supply topology suitable for the magnetic separator,and ends with an analysis of the components of switched mode power supply.Then it moves to an intensive study of the control theory and control strategy of high-power high-frequency switched-mode power supply and proposes an IPOS modularized power system.The study brings true a digital construction of the controller and a dual-core(DSP and FPGA)con-trol system where FPGA works to output PWM signals and DSP to realize PID algorithm.This is a comprehensive system design from the perspective of hardware and software for equipment.The article describes the method of selecting switching device,and the design process of high-frequency transformer.The study and field applications verified that the design meets the appropriate technical indicators.The paper presents a high-power high-frequency switched-mode power supply useful to the excitation in strong magnetic beneficiation technology suitable for a large power magnet-ic separator of a mining and metallurgy institute.Compared with traditional thyristors,this switched-mode power supply allows us to significantly shrink the size of devices,reduce the harmonics of the grid-side current generated by devices during operation,and improve the con-version efficiency of electric energy of devices.The results of this study may provide some technical ideas and referential solutions for the excitation power of magnetic separator and sup-ply technologies in related fields.
