Nowadays,Fossil fuels such as petroleum,coal,and natural gas are the primary source of energy,chemicals,and materials.Fossil fuels provide more than three quarters of the world's energy.However,the rate at which we consume fossil fuels is vastly larger than the rates of fossil fuels discovery and/or creation.Furthermore,the environmental damage caused by the combustion of fossil fuels is a factor that contributes to global warming.These consequences have motivated worldwide research into developing economic and energy-efficient processes for the sustainable production of transport fuels and chemicals.Fuels derived from biobased materials are attracting attention for their potential in securing the energy supply and protecting the environment.Rice husks from the agricultural industries are abundant in China with an annual production of more than 36 million tons.The aim of the study in this thesis was to explore new application ways of rice husk.In the experiment rice husks were pretreated with acidic compounds,basic compounds and neutral compounds respectively before pyrolysis.The pyrolysis products of rice husk were characterized by GC-MS.The results of experiments showed that the pyrolysis products mainly were furfural and a small amount of adjacent methoxy phenol by treatment with acidic compounds.The mainly products were phenol when treated with basic compounds.The results of experiment also showed that the pyrolysis products were complicated include adjacent methoxy phenol,phenol and other compounds by treatment with neutral compounds.The results of research showed that the pyrolysis rice husk pretreated with KOH had catalytic activity for biodiesel production.The optimum conditions to synthesize catalysts were that rice husk treated with 1.5 mol/L KOH solution and cracked at 500? for 5 h.The effects of catalyst quantity,reaction temperature,reaction time on synthesis biodiesel were investigated.The results showed that under the optimum conditions of catalyst 4%,the mole ratio of oil to alcohol 10:1 reaction temperature 65?,reaction time 3 h,the yield of biodiesel was over 98.56%.
