The research of nozzle atomization characteristics has been a relatively active area,but a few people have focused on the atomization characteristics of the household low pressure nozzle,the standards of relevant industry lack of clear indicators.This paper against a sprayer of one company to improve its structural and use PIV on its atomization characteristics research,giving the corresponding evaluation.First,we determine the measurement methods of atomizing particle velocity and particle size based on the existing measuring equipment PIV,studying the principle of interference imaging measurement of particle size,and determine the measurement of the spatial distribution of particles though statistics to the gray fog by using digital imaging system based on the PIV laser.At the same time,we analysis the atomized particle size based on digital imaging by using of image pixels to verified the particle size measurement of the interference imaging method.Second,we introduce a swirl nozzle instead of the original spray nozzles,identified the structure of rotating nozzle core,core sets,the swirl film of the spray key components,while identified various parameters based the studies of previous,and design nozzle structure of the test bench.The existing standard of sprayer JB-T5113-2005 only give two simple evaluation are spray angle and spray range.In order to cover all the atomization of the nozzle,this paper studying the index system of atomization characteristics preliminarily and extending the evaluation index system.We use a number of indicators to assess the performance of the nozzle atomization,including the atomized particle velocity,the spray angle,the spray range,the atomized particle size,the particle uniformity and spatial distribution of atomized particles.Finally we designed the test program of the various indicators of atomization characteristics,building a corresponding test system according to the test plan,which is mainly consisted of the PIV system,the test platforms of low pressure spray and the digital imaging system.We use the system to measure the atomization particle velocity distribution,spray angle and spray range,the spatial distribution of particles,the spatial distribution of particle size distribution and SMD of the nozzle.The measurement results showed that:the improved swirl atomizing nozzle has a good effect can be applied to the optimization of the household spray improvements.
