Research Of The Landscape Architecture Of Hainan Impacted By Southeast Asian Culture In Modern And Contemporary History

Hainan and the Southeast Asian countries are inextricably linked and interacted by each other; there is a historical background in the formation of the South Pacific culture culture and its impact on Hainan. Hainan tropical garden has been vigorously developed driven by the tourism boom in recent years. But in reality, the construction process of Hainan tropical garden is inevitably affected by the early tropical garden style of Southeast Asian countries due to its late start, especially the coastal resort hotel garden in Hainan Coastal. A lot of tropical gardens with Southeast Asian style were constructed due to the influence of South Pacific culture cultue. But the research that the Southeast Asia culture affects Hainan garden landscape is still in blank. In this paper, the in-depth study of the impact of South Pacific culture will help to review and reflect the landscape industry in Hainan, excavate and collect more valuable tropical landscape elements and methods ,highlight the deep historical and cultural values of Hainan and its regional cultural characteristics. This has become a very practical research topic.This paper adopts the method of literature research. Based on the analysis of the present situation of Hainan gardens, the historical and cultural background, the characteristics of the development of landscape architecture and historical evolution in Southeast Asia, the author selected typical city and town sites in the East, South, West,North and central regions of Hainan Island, focusing on Haikou, Sanya, Wenchang,Xinglong, Lingshui, Boao, Qionghai and other historical and cultural towns , the author made deep researches on conditions and types of landscape architecture in Hainan influenced by South Pacific cultural.Following the background of "South Pacific culture", the paper discusses arising from the origin of Hainan culture and the "South Pacific culture", and analyzes the landscape background and characteristics of country of residence in the Southeast Asia, compares with the existing landscape of Hainan , and analyzes Southeast Asia style impacts on landscape architecture in Hainan in modern and recent times and its application situation ,from the shape, layout and landscaping elements (architectural art, plants, rocks, essay,landscape water body ) ,and sums up Hainan tropical garden landscape conditions and characteristics wich are affected by South Pacific culture.The conclusions are as follows:1.Hainan landscape affected by South Pacific culture period, concentrated in the republic of China and the modern tourism boom. During the period of the republic of China, site focused on the influence of northern Hainan island,The landscape elements during the period of this time were mainly appeared in the aspect of architecture,and the layout was mostly of compact and axial symmetry ; While contemporary era concentrated in the coastal towns. The influence by contemporary South Pacific culture focused on many fields in Hainan at this time, which also concentrated on the tropical garden for tourism with the combination of structured and natural style.2.Garden Architecture: The corridor structure and the accessories in the European style of the Republic of China shared the features from both China and West. With the modern steel and concrete as the main building materials, the Southeast Asian slope roof modeling with the geography effects has been regarded as the basic unit of contemporary garden building. A variety of landscape forms derived from it, and the wood materials were main elements.3.Plants: A large proportion of the street and shade trees in Hainan are directly planted from the Southeast Asia. Green-based screen is decorated by the layout of bright flowering and colorful leaves, which is willing to create a palm-based tropical jungle landscape.4.hillstone :In the aspect of mountain shape and sculpture, it also expressed the religious worship and art interest in the Southeast Asia.5.small garden ornaments: The garden-based concealment of service, decoration and displayed types is usually embodied with the natural orientation, folk customs and religious beliefs of the Southeast Asian. It is the exquisite skills that are featured with comfortable natural texture and high quality of art.6.Water: The shape of pond or lake is mostly placed as geometric forms. As the central landscape,the pond or lake is combined with waterfall,pavilion,plants and other elements.7.South Pacific culture has an impact on the landscape of Hainan,and the degree of its influence from strong to weak: landscape architecture> landscape sketch > landscape plants>landscape water>landscape landscape.
