In order to reduce consumption of non-renewable energy sources such as diesel, gasoline, and better improve engine combustion and emissions, looking for alternative fuel engine become what some researchers focus direction.n-pentanol,as a kind of oxygenated fuel, without causing greater fuel consumption rate, can effectively reduce Soot and NOx emissions of diesel engine, and now,for both at home and abroad, the engine test research n-pentanol/diesel blended fuel is not much.Based on this,in this paper,Pure diesel(remember as D100),The mixed fuel of diesel blended with a mixture of 10%n-pentanol(remember as DP 10),The mixed fuel of diesel blended with a mixture of 20%n-pentanol(remember as DP20),The mixed fuel of diesel blended with a mixture of 40%n-pentanol(remember as DP40).The four fuels were tested on a four cylinder diesel engine that meets the national five emission standard. The effects of fuel injection pressure, injection timing,EGR rate and pre injection strategy on the combustion and emission characteristics of the four fuels during the combustion process were systematically studied.Experimental results show that:1.Increase injection pressure, can effectively reduce Soot,CO and THC emissions, but will cause NOx emissions rise;In diesel blending n-pentanol can reduce Soot and NOx emissions at the same time, but the CO and THC emissions rise; The increase of fuel injection pressure can effectively reduce total particulate matter number concentration and total particulate matter mass concentration, thus, reduce PM emission.2.For the four fuels, delayed injection timing can effectively reduce NOx emission of diesel engines.3.Increasing EGR rate,to reduce NOx emission effect is obvious, which can effectively balance the Soot and NOx emissions, but will cause the increase of Aggregated particlate matter number concentration, resulting in the increase of total particulate matter mass concentration. The PM emission of n-pentanol-diesel mixed fuel can be improved with a small and large EGR rate. With a small EGR rate, the improvement effect decreases with the increase of the proportion of n-pentanol added. With a large EGR rate, the improvement effect was enhanced with the increase of the proportion of n-pentanol added.4 the addition of pre-spraying can effectively reduce the maximum pressure increase rate;PM emissions of the four fuels are mainly composed of concentrated particulates, and the peak number concentration of concentrated particulates decreases with the increase of the proportion of pre-spraying.the peak number concentration of concentrated particulates declines with the increase of the Angle of the pre-spray interval,Compared with a single injection, the use of a large proportion of pre-spraying and a small spray interval can reduce the number concentration of total particles,Especially for reducing the number concentration of aggregated particles, the effect is obvious.
