With the development of industry and transportation,the using of energy has always been the top priority.The traditional energy sources cause environmental pollution problems.Therefore,more and more industrial production and transport vehicles use combustible gas as the energy source.Gas energy not only burns more fully to reduce fuel waste,but also effectively reduce environmental pollution.The safety of high-pressure gas cylinders production and using become the current community concern.However,with the increasing demand for product quality and the automation of industrial production,the traditional test methods are still difficult to meet that demand.In recent years,the mature development of machine vision technology has provided a new method for non-destructive testing.The subject for manufacturers to provide gas cylinders and quality control standards for research and design.Due to the small size of the test object and defects and background contras,the hardware solution of the system uses the mobile scanning imaging method to shoot image of the inner wall of the cylinder.The program includes translation stage,rotating device,lifting platform so that the camera can be inserted into the cylinder to shoot all the internal wall.And according to the actual needs to select the lens,camera,light source and other related hardware.Software includes defect detection algorithm and system software.Defect detection algorithm based on each defect imaging features and differences.The defects were screened by image pretreatment,edge detection,contour fitting and morphological processing.Due to the camera imaging distortion and the curvature of the cylinder wall,resulting in distortion of the images.According to the calibration results,a defect size compensation algorithm is designed to obtain the defect size close to the true value.System software includes camera control,embedded defect detection algorithm,communication control with PLC,PC interface display,feedback test results to the user.The entire software is based on Visual Studio 12 and uses multithreading to solve defect detection,camera shooting and results display simultaneously.After several experimental tests,the results show that high-pressure gas cylinder wall defect detection system can quickly,stably and reliably detect the various defects of the cylinder wall.
