The construction industry is one of the pillar industries in the development of China’s national economy. As the real estate heat gradually subsides, the competition in the construction industry has also intensified. As far as the current situation of the construction industry is concerned, the total output value is still expanding, the number of employees is increasing, and the external competitiveness is steadily rising, but the profit rate has declined.Under this circumstance,if a construction company wants to gain competitive advantage,it must improve its own project risk management capabilities through exploratory learning.Based on the related concepts of exploratory learning and project risk management, this paper constructs the function of exploratory learning for the project construction company’s project risk management capabilities.Through a questionnaire survey, employees of domestic construction companies were investigated and the impact of exploratory learning on project risk management capabilities of construction companies was empirically studied. The entropy method is used to assign weights to the indicators at all levels.Through the calculation, the overall score of the project risk management at each stage and the overall score of the project risk management ability are obtained. The paper mainly includes six parts. The first part, introduction. It mainly includes the research background, purpose and significance of the thesis, domestic and foreign research,as well as the main research content and methods of this paper, research innovation and the technical route of research. The second part is the theoretical basis.Including the content of exploratory learning, the connotation of project risk management, the connotation of project risk management capabilities and the entropy method. The third part is research design.Include research hypotheses, design questionnaires, and select corresponding indicators. The fourth part is empirical analysis.First, the entropy method was used to calculate the overall score of the secondary indicators. Then, conduct empirical analysis, including descriptive statistical analysis, regression analysis, and so on.Finally, combining the comprehensive scoring and empirical results, the problems existing in project risk management capabilities and the problems existing in exploratory learning are proposed. The fifth part, countermeasures and suggestions.According to the content of the regression analysis and the questions raised in the results analysis, corresponding countermeasures and suggestions are proposed. The sixth part, conclusion and outlook.Summarize the main research conclusions of this article, and discuss the research innovation and research inadequacies of this article,as well as the future need to do research work.Using the entropy method to calculate the overall score of the project risk management at each stage,it is found that the construction company’s project risk monitoring capability has the lowest average value, followed by the project risk response capability. Therefore, construction companies should focus on improving these two capabilities. At the same time, carry out regression analysis to verify hypotheses. The results show that exploratory learning can improve project risk management capabilities of construction companies by creating new knowledge within the organization and acquiring new knowledge outside the organization.Among them, the acquisition of new knowledge outside the organization has a greater impact on the project’s project risk management capabilities than the internal new knowledge creation. Therefore, the exploration-based learning activities of construction companies should focus more on acquiring project risk management knowledge from outside the enterprise.
