Talk With Nature—Interpret The Concept Of Symbiosis In Tadao Ando’s Architectures

With the background of increasingly severe environmental problems and lacking of urban living space,architecture as a medium between people and environment,it is a very important for construction field to deal with the relationship between architecture and nature today.The Japanese architect Tadao Ando takes natural symbiosis as one of his design concepts and tries to create a space where architecture and nature can have a deep symbiosis in contradiction.As a concept derived from biology,"symbiosis" has been extended to multidisciplinary fields,such as architecture,environmental science,and sociology.Its essence lies in bringing mutual benefits to both parties based on living together.Today,it has shown a powerful vitality.This article is based on the theory of symbiosis and ideas derived from it.It aims to explore how Ando injects the concept of “natural symbisosis” into his works to produce a rich spatial expression.This article is divided into five parts: The Introduction part includes the research background,research objects,research status and research framework.The first chapter discusses and combs the architectural concept of Tadao Ando,? ? that is,the integration of traditional and modern,anti-modern functions.,three elements in Ando’s architecture and Tadao Ando’s view of nature;the second chapter is Symbiosis Theory,summarized the origins of symbiosis and environmental symbiosis,the symbiosis in the field of architecture,and the concept of symbiosis in the Japanese national outlook on nature;the third chapter was Tadao Ando’s Architectural works.It takes Azuma House,the Church of Light and the architectures in Naoshima as examples to analyse natural symbiosis in Ando’s architectural creations.Finally,it concludes that the symbiosis between architecture and nature plays an extremely important role in Ando’s work.He directly introduces natural elements such as wind,light,rain into everyday life by creating open space;introduces abstract natural elements in a special way or reflect the environment in a minimalist geometric structure,by scenery-borrowing,use the way to change the building mass to make the building "eliminate" in the nature and other ways to make people live in a symbiosis with architectures and environment.
