With today's globally integrated economy and the increasing number of population the role of transportation has got immense attention in the world. One of the core perceptions in economic and transport natural future states that transportation is a reflected in the conventional literature which give emphasis to transport exists for the reason that it is the expression of a spatially separated function of supply and demand and is thus considered to be "derived" from other events[1].Though,currently developments in supply chain and logistics management underline a model shift in the thoughtfulness of passengers and freight transportation as a derived demand. In different pattern of practice, the functions of production, transportation and consumption have become implanted to the point which makes hard to tell them apart. As in the whole world Ethiopia which with the fast increasing population and economy require efficient transport system. However, the countries transport infrastructure with the exception of air transport is not developed;the county has poor road and rail transport network and density, which is one of the least in Africa with many challenges;financial, maintenance, professionals, and management problem. Despite the shortcomings of railway transport, the country has now formulated an ambitious plan to develop a new railway network system with a length of 5,000km.This paper tries to fill the demand gap which is the crucial that used as an input for the railway network system planning, modelling and management. As its history shows, pervious Ethio-Djibouti Railway Company suffered huge losses in traffic and finance and eventually was forced to quit operations. The Direct Demand Model which is developed in this research is simple and can produce traffic demand on single computation. It was selected and analyzed with different variables in the SPSS with the model validation of Pearson coefficient r=0.98 and r2= 0.96...
