Corrugated steel webs box girder bridge is a new form of bridge.Through the study of finite element and experiment,this paper solves some problems of shear buckling and shear bearing capacity of corrugated steel webs.The object of this study is the web of corrugated steel webs box girder.In the study,it is not necessary to establish the finite element model of the box girder completely or to make the complete test model of box girder.Through method of finite element,the structure of corrugated steel webs box girder is simplified.This paper aims to study the elastic shear buckling strength of trapezoidal corrugated steel web and to propose a high precision solution of buckling strength with wide application range.As an important research procedure on trapezoidal corrugated steel web,too many parameters must be considered due to its complicated geometric profile and buckling mode.Firstly,a large number of numerical analysis results of the shear buckling mode of trapezoidal corrugated steel web are obtained by applying Finite Element Method.Then parametric study is employed to reveal the effect of geometric parameter on local buckling and global buckling respectively.The critical factors of geometric parameters are found out to modify the equations of local buckling strength and global buckling strength.Finally,the correlation among the local buckling,global buckling and coupled buckling is revealed,and an improved method is proposed to calculate buckling strength.The proposed equations give good agreement with the Finite Element Method analysis results and can be applicable to a wide geometric range.Moreover,conclusions of present research are expected to study the ultimate shear strength and to provide strategies for the optimal design of trapezoidal corrugated steel web.The shear properties of corrugated web were studied by means of experiments.The relationship between the geometrical size and buckling mode of corrugated steel web was obtained through the experimental phenomenon.By analyzing the experimental data,the relationship between the shear stress distribution,shear ultimate shear bearing capacity and post-buckling capacity and the geometrical size of the wave plate is acquired.Discussing the calculation method of shear bearing capacity in current national standard and obtained by international scholars studying the corrugated steel web,and making preliminary discussion and analysis for the applicability and limitations of these commonly used calculation methods.On the basis of current theory,combining with the test data of wave plate shear bearing capacity in this paper and worldwide,calculation method of shear bearing capacity with consideration of various shear failure interaction was put forward and application range of formula is given by the analysis and research.The applicability and limitation of each calculation method are analyzed by comparing the calculation method of shear bearing capacity and commonly used calculation method.Collecting the geometrical dimensions of the webs of corrugated steel webs box girder built worldwide to establish the finite element model.The proposed formula is compared with the finite element results,which shows that the formula has the high precision.
