For a long time,the research on the trafficability of multi-axle off-road vehicles mainly relied on experimental means,and the research progress in theory has progressed slowly.At present,using virtual prototyping software to analyze transitivity is a new research method,through which the study of trafficability is not deep enough.Multi-axis off-road vehicles must have good trafficability under various terrains,and the ability to cross vertical obstacles is one of the important indicators to measure their trafficability.This article mainly uses the virtual prototype software ADAMS to simulate and analyze the ability that an 8×8 vehicle crosses the vertical step and horizontal trench.In this article,an 8×8 vehicle was taken as the research object,the subsystems of the full vehicle was constructed by ADAMS/CAR,including double front axle steering system,suspension systems of four axles,leaf spring systems,FTtire tire system,body system and powertrain system for crossing obstacle.All subsystems were established to a vehicle virtual prototype model.Based on pavement system,the ability of crossing step and trench were simulated and analyzed.Firstly,the maximum height of crossing step and the width of crossing trench were gotten under different pavement adhesion coefficients,and the influence of the pavement adhesion coefficient on crossing step and trench was analyzed.A detailed analysis of the dynamic process of crossing step and trench was conducted.Secondly,a powertrain system with an inter-axle differential was established to simulate the driving conditions on the off-road.The results showed that the vehicle could cross on the bisectional road surface and the working principle of inter-axle differential was verified.Based on suspension system,the ability of crossing step and trench was simulated and analyzed.The damping value and leaf spring stiffness of each axle were rematched respectively.Under the combination of different damping and leaf spring stiffness,the maximum height of crossing step and the width of crossing trench were obtained.The influence of damping and leaf spring stiffness on crossing obstacles of the prototype vehicle was analyzed.Based on flexible frame,the ability of crossing step and trench were simulated and analyzed.A frame MNF file was generated by Hypermesh,a flexible frame vehicle model was established in ADAMS.The height of crossing step and the width of crossing trench of the flexible frame vehicle were gotten,the impact of the flexibileframe on the crossing step and trench was given.
