In recent years, the construction industry has developed rapidly, and the research and application of base-isolation technologies have been greatly developed. However, with the complexity and diversity of modern architectural styles, the base-isolation technology has limitations in range of application, and it can no longer meet the shock-resilient requirements of building structures.Based on the base isolation,a new layer of seismic isolation technology has been developed.Compared with the base isolation structure, the interlayer seismic isolation structure is widely used, low cost, and easy to construct and maintain. It is often used in the storey-addition,reconstruction,reinforcement of old buildings,as well as buildings subjected to terrain conditions or special structures. The isolation layer of the interval seismic structure is flexible, and the shock absorption effect varies with the structure and the location of the isolation layer. Therefore, this paper mainly studies the effect of seismic isolation layer position on the seismic response of irregular structures. In this paper, researchers first introduce the related concepts of the seismic isolation structure and the mechanical properties of the seismic isolation device, establish the mechanical model of the base isolation structure and the layered seismic isolation structure, and derive the relevant dynamic equilibrium equations. Then researchers use SAP2000 finite element software to establish four analysis models for an eight-story asymmetric large chassis single-tower frame structure, which includes seismic structure model,base-isolated structure model,four-story isolation structure model and seven-story isolation structural model, and carry out modal analysis. Finally, researchers apply three kinds of seismic waves to the four models.Under the conditions of multi-event earthquakes and rare earthquakes, researchers carry out dynamic time-history analysis to obtain the interlayer relative acceleration, interlayer displacement value, and interlayer shear force value of four structural models, and check the rationality of the isolated structure design according to criterion restriction.Through the analysis of the results of the above indicators, the response variation rule and the damping effect of the four structural models under different earthquakes are obtained. The research results show that under the effect of horizontal earthquake, the isolation structure has obvious shock absorption effect compared with the traditional seismic structure. The seismic isolation structure absorbs and consumes a large amount of seismic energy through the deformation of the seismic isolation device, blocks the transmission of the seismic energy to the upper structure, and then acts as a shock absorber for the upper structure. The position of the isolation layer has a great influence on the damping effect of the structure. The base isolation effect is better than that of the interlayer seismic isolation. The optimal isolation layer layout plan should be selected according to the structure's own characteristics and people's daily use requirements.
