The railway shoulders the major transportation tasks in China,which is an important carrier for the development of a sustainable economy with the characteristics such as large geographical spread,high safety,low environmental impact,high cost-effectiveness,and environmentally friendly.The great development of the railway industry will benefit both the current and long-term development,and it is of great significance for stabilizing growth,adjusting the structure,and benefiting people's livelihood.Today,with the rapid development of the Chinese railway industry,rail transport security has become a focus of public attention.Electric locomotive transformers and gearboxes are important equipment on electric locomotives which play a vital role in the normal operation of electric locomotives.The role of the electric locomotive transformer is to convert the high-voltage electricity into the low-voltage electricity needed by the locomotives and vehicles.It is the energy source for the entire train and is expensive.The electric locomotive gearbox is the power transmitter of the entire train.Due to its poor operating environment and high speed and heavy load,its failure rate has remained high.Due to the above reasons,this paper has studied the status and fault diagnosis of electric locomotive transformers and gearboxes.It is based on traditional oil analysis and uses intelligent algorithms to develop a fault diagnosis system using VB,MATLAB and other software,which would improve the accuracy of fault diagnosis.This paper mainly studies several aspects:The oil analysis method of the electric locomotive gear box using the direct-reading ferro-spectroscopy and atomic emission spectrometry techniques to quantitatively analyze the concentration of the abrasive grains and elements in the lubricant was studied.Based on the characteristic elements extracted from the oil sample at random,the limit value of the operation status of the symbolized gear box is calculated,and the data in the oil sample to be detected is compared with the limit value to determine the operating status and possible faults of the gear box.The oil analysis method for the electric locomotive transformer was studied.The gas content of each characteristic of the transformer lubricant was measured by using a gas chromatograph,and the gas production rate of each gas was calculated.Then decides the breakdown of the transformer according to the industry standard.For faulty transformers,using the three-ratio method to determine the fault type and fault location.The application of support vector machines in gearboxes and transformers is studied.This paper uses the method of support vector machine(SVM)to make up the deficiency of traditional oil analysis in fault diagnosis.Support vector machine diagnosis method is to convert two-dimensional non-separable problem to linear separable problem in high dimensional space by kernel function,and then use data samples to train SVM network to establish an optimal classifier.This method effectively avoids possible errors in the oilanalysis process and greatly improves the accuracy of fault diagnosis.This article finally applied VB,MATLAB and other software to develope a fault diagnosis system for electric locomotive gearboxes and transformers.The system includes light spectrum analysis,gas chromatography analysis,support vector machine gear box analysis,support vector machine transformer analysis,data browsing,data maintenance and other modules.
