With the development of power electronic devices and electronic technology,the switched reluctance motor(SRM),as a new type of speed control motor,has entered people’s field of vision.The SRM has many characteristics,such like solid structure,low cost,wide speed range,high operation efficiency and suitable for harsh environment,which make researchers have a strong interest in the research of the SRM.With the continuous in-depth research on the SRM,the SRM has been applied to many fields for the moment,such as agriculture,industry,transportation and aerospace.However,the double-salient structure and switching operation mode of the SRM make it exhibit large vibration and acoustic noise,which limits the further application of the SRM.Therefore,a series of research and analysis are carried out to reduce the acoustic noise generated by the SRM in this paper.Firstly,the acoustic noise sources and causes of the SRM are analyzed and summarized,and the current research on the acoustic noise suppression of the SRM is systematically summarized in this paper.Then the basic structure,the operation principle and the mathematical model of the SRM are introduced in detail.And this thesis puts emphases on the analysis of the basic control strategies for the SRM,which include the chopped control,angular position control and composite control.Secondly,the development and application of the radom pulse width modulation(RPWM)are summarized briefly,and a method,spreading the voltage harmonics spectra for the SRM by using chaotic pulse width modulation(CPWM),is designed to reduce the aroustic noise generated in operation.Then the principle of CPWM is introduced in detail,and a speed control system based on CPWM for the SRM is built up in Matlab/Simulink environment.In order to verify the effectiveness of the method,two sets of simulation are set up to compare.One of them is a speed control system based on hysteresis for the SRM,the other is a speed control system based on traditional PWM for the SRM.Simulation results certify the effectiveness of the proposed CPWM in the aroustic noise reduction of the SRM,which provides a new way for reducing the aroustic noise of the SRM.Finally,the design on switched reluctance motor drive system(SRD)is introduced in this paper,and a set of SRD experiment platform based on CPWM is built up.The hardware design and software design of the experiment platform are described in detail.In order to verify the effectiveness of CPWM to reduce the aroustic noise of the SRM in actual operation,the aroustic noise reduction experiment based on CPWM is carried out on the SRD experiment platform and the aroustic noise reduction experiment based on traditional PWM is also carried out on the SRD experiment platform for comparison.The noise measurement device is used to measure the aroustic noise of each experiment for making a more intuitive comparison.The experiment results certify the effectiveness and practicability of the proposed CPWM again.
