The use of new materials such as titanium alloys and carbon fiber reinforced composites(CFRP)in the overall structure of aircraft has become more common,but its difficult-to-machine features have presented new challenges to automated hole making technology.The titanium alloy/carbon fiber reinforced composite laminar structure is processed by the traditional drilling process,and the processing quality and processing precision of the connection holes are difficult to meet the requirements of the aircraft assembly connection,and the efficiency is low.In order to realize the processing of connecting holes in laminated structure of aviation difficult-to-machine materials,this paper mainly researches the test system and processing technology of orbital drilling holes and oval hole automated processing.First introduced the structure of the multi-functional end effector independently developed by Zhejiang University,and illustrated that this system is an innovative design integrating the orbital drilling hole and the oval hole processing function.It has built a test platform for the research of the hole making technology.Then use orbital drilling hole function to complete the CFRP/titanium alloy laminated structure connection hole processing,using the oval hole process in the titanium alloy plate connection hole for the processing of the elliptical oval hole,to provide a test reference for automated lamination of the laminated structure.In the multi-functional end-effector hole making system for orbital drilling of laminated structures,titanium alloy chips tend to scratch the hole wall,resulting in processing defects.In order to improve the quality of holes,this paper makes use of the characteristics of orbital drilling machining with variable eccentricity,puts forward a strategy for improving the return machining process,and designs and implements tests to analyze the quality of holes with different hole diameters.In order to realize the elliptical oval hole processing on the titanium alloy plate,the automatic processing technology of the oval hole is studied in this paper.On the basis of the research on the principle of oval hole machining,the mathematic formula of the swing center of the core parameter of the elliptical socket machining is deduced,the socket defect is analyzed,and the corresponding adjustment scheme is designed.Finally,according to the adjustment scheme,the titanium alloy plate andoval hole test was conducted.The results show that the adjusted process parameters are used for processing.The hole's size and surface roughness can meet the product requirements.The experiment results show that the multi-functional end effector can meet the machining requirement of CFRP/titanium alloy laminated structure connection hole processing.
