Study On Magnetic Saturation Core Current Limiter And Its Fast Fault Detection Algorithm

With the rapid development of electrical systems,higher short-circuit and more damage will be brought when short-circuit fault occurred in grid.Among all the current measure of limiting short circuit,the measure of installing current limiters is the most efficient way.This article made carefully research on Saturated Core Fault Current Limiter.Saturated Core Fault Current Limiter is a Non-Adaptive current limiter which requires trigger signal from fault detection system,so the accuracy and rapidity of fault detection system effect the performance of current limiter directly.Firstly,the paper introduced the principle of saturated core current limiter and the "stud" type magnetic saturation core current limiter's working principle.The current limiter ontology model is established in the MATLAB/Simulink software,and simulated the whole current model in line.The effect of simulation has been analyzed sufficiently.After that,this article introduces several current methods for fault detection and detailed analysis was made to its characteristic.On the basis of the existing fault detection research,a new kind of traveling wave method of fault detection put forward.after that,this paper expounds the algorithm of fault and the fault-line detection in detail.First of all,this content introduced the principle of wavelet algorithm.And then,analyzed the method of extracting the traveling wave from fault transient signal used by wavelet transform.Finally,diagnosed the fault rely on the Traveling wave information.This algorithm has been simulated sufficiently by PSCAD software.And using the simulation data as the signal source,to verify this detection algorithm accuracy and quickness through Hardware simulation used by DSP28335.The results show that new detection method dramatically improved the current limiting capability of fault current limiter.
