The lane-changing behavior is one of the behaviors that often occur in the driving process.Because of there are some differences among drivers' personality traits, cognitive ability, driving skills and living environment and so on,as a result, their decision-making on lane-changing are different.Drivers act as the manipulator of vehicles, their own attribute has a non-negligible influence on the decision-making of lane-changing behavior. In order to further explore the impact of individual characteristics on the lane-changing behavior,in this study, according to the gap between the leading vehicle and the following vehicle, the lane-changing behavior has been divided into two categories: discretionary and mandatory lane-changing,and the relationships between drivers' individual characteristics and discretionary as well as mandatory lane-changing have been explored respectively to identify the key factors affecting two types of lane-changing behaviors, and further to establish discretionary and mandatory lane-changing prediction model using multiple hierarchical regression and structural equation respectively. In addition, the dynamic decision-making process were explored based on evolutionary game theory and further to verify the actual strategic payoff relationship and evolutionarily stable strategy using utility evaluation data. The results shows that the time hurry can predict the lane-changing behavior related with velocity improvement while the safety motive can predict the lane-changing behavior related with obstacles or risk avoidance;drivers' attitudes towards mandatory lane-changing and traffic violations, safety motivation, driving skills and risk perception have significant effects on the mandatory lane-changing;The decision-making process and key factors affecting their strategy payoff for different types of drivers are different. In this paper, the impacts of individual characteristics on the lane-changing behavior and the dynamic decision-making process of different types of drivers were studied, which enriches the research theory on the lane-changing behavior and excavates the formation mechanism of the lane-changing behavior. This study provides theoretical basis and method guidance for managing bad lane-changing behaviors.
