As an important component of the pipe connection system,flange is widely used in production.It plays an important role in the fields of nuclear energy,petrochemical and electricity generation.With the rapid development of science and technology,there are higher requirements for flange requirements,including high pressure,high temperature,corrosion resistance and other technical aspects.In the process of production,the accidents caused by flanges failure or leakage are often more serious,not only economic losses,but also more serious social effects.Therefore,it is necessary to carry out the design,stress analysis,failure form analysis and life assessment for some flange with special requirements.At present,some scholars mainly study flange leakage,flange seal and other fields,and seldom study the problems caused by the failure of the flange itself.In addition,the existing standard flanges are difficult to adapt to the changing demand in manufacturer.Therefore,according to the characteristics of different fields,it is particularly important to design non-standard flanges that meet specific requirements to ensure production safety.On the other hand,it also plays a certain role in resource saving and production economy.For some of the problems mentioned above,this paper works on specific examples.First of all,clear flange design requirements,the design flange needs to work in high temperature,high pressure environment,and large flange specifications.At present,there is no standard flange for selection in standard flanges,so it is necessary to design flanges.This work focuses on the selection of Waters flange design method,the design of two different forms of flange seal.One kind is the ring joint flange.Another one is raised face flange.After the completion of the design,the stress and fatigue life assessment of the flange are analyzed.In the process of analysis,three-dimensional software is used to model the solid,and the finite element software is used to simulate the stress of the flange.It's necessary to found in the simulated condition of the dangerous stress analysis of flange,flange stress distribution.During the life assessment process,the stress is classified by the rain flow method.Finally,a series of calculations will be made to get the life loss of flange during the single loading process.
