Wireless charging is part of the "tailless" revolution in the entire electronics industry.From wired to wireless,it is an inevitable trend for the development of the electronics industry.With the breakthrough of "technology,standards,and markets",and the promotion of policies,safe,convenient,smart,and simple wireless charging is applied to smart watches,smart phones,electric vehicles,and even wider fields,wireless charging development for many years it will usher in its important turning point.At the important turning point in the wireless charging industry,it is timely to study the patent portfilio and industry competition of wireless charging technology.analyzing the technology evolution path of wireless charging technology based on 3639 documents through Citespace.The wireless charging technology is roughly divided into three stages:the budding period(1991-2007),the development period(2008-2014),and the mature period(2015-present);the research on this technology mainly focuses on the inductive power transmission,Magnetic Resonance,Resonant Power Conversion,Circuit,Coil,Foreign Object Detection,Optimization,etc.;The main research institutions are University of Auckland,Korea Institute of Science and Technology,Shanghai Jiaotong University,Southeast University,Tsinghua University,etc.;The main researchers are Covic GA.Kim J,Ghovanloo M,Li Y,Hu AP,Boys JT et al.Taking the global 36,613(21056 patent families)patents of wireless charging technology as an analysis sample,it can be seen that the global wireless charging technology patents are continuing to grow at high growth rates.The application areas are mainly concentrated in China,the United States,Japan,South Korea and Europe.The overall situation of patent applications in the field of wireless charging can be divided into technology introduction period,technology development period and technology maturity period.Technical hot spots are mainly concentrated in H02J 17/00,H02J 7/02,H02J 7/00,H02J 5/00 and B60L 11/18,B60L 5/00 and other categories.According to the patent strength analysis,the number of core patents for Qualcomm,Samsung,Panasonic,Anda High,LG,and Witricity ranks high.In the Chinese market,many international giants have conducted a large number of patents.The quality of applications in China is generally low and the technology content is not high.Most of them are application-type patents.The applicants are mainly domestic universities and a few advantageous enterprises,such as Tianjin Polytechnic University.,South China University of Technology,ZTE,Haier,Zonecharge etc.Three comprehensive companies,Qualcomm,Samsung,and Apple,which have different roles in the industry,as well as three representative institutions,ZTE,Zonecharge and Tianjin University of Technology,were selected to conduct competition analysis.It has been found that international industry giants are stronger than domestic institutions in the layout and operation of core patents.Under the background of the national new energy strategy,the wireless charging industry in China is more focused on the research of high-power wireless charging technologies such as electric vehicles.It is recommended that in the aspect of macroeconomic policies and standards,implement the national new energy strategy,improve the scientific research assessment system of universities and research institutes,evaluate and subsidize international patents of related industries,and strengthen the collaborative innovation of industry,universities,and research;accelerate the establishment of corresponding national standards and industry standards.,Association standards;in the development decision-making of enterprises/colleges and universities,to raise awareness of intellectual property rights,dominant organizations must also strengthen the awareness of international patents,make full use of the industry-university-research cooperation to strengthen cooperation research between enterprises and scientific research institutions,and build a patent pool for wireless charging industry and promote the construction of Industrial alliances.
