With the continuous improvement of the society and economy,the demand for electricity has continuously increased.As an important part of today's energy,methods in the past which were used to solve the electric power economic emission dispatch problem may no longer meet the requirements of sustainable development in today's society.The main methods used to solve the electric power economic emission dispatch were swam intelligent algorithms and some methods based on numerical calculation.However,the swarm intelligence algorithm were easier to fall into the local optimum,meanwhile the method of numerical calculation needs to consider the dimension of the problem.Therefore,it was very meaningful for the whole power generation system and the distribution network to study the application of swarm intelligence algorithm and data calculation method in the power system.In this paper,an improved Intelligent Water Drops algorithm was proposed by combining the swarm intelligence,numerical calculation method and chaos mapping.Meanwhile,the improved method was applied to solve the electric power economic emission dispatch problem.The improved method used the Tent chaotic map to process the velocity update parameters and the soil volume update parameters of the Intelligent Water Drops(IWD)algorithm.At the same time,chaos initialization of the initial soil volume of the path between nodes of the algorithm was carried out to increase the diversity of the algorithm selection process and to avoid the algorithm from falling into the local optimum.And in the improved algorithm,the sequential quadratic programming(SQP)method was introduced,and the SQP algorithm was used to tune the solution of each iteration of the droplet algorithm to get a better solution set.Through the introduction of Intelligent Water Drops algorithm,Tent chaos mapping and SQP,an improved method to the IWD algorithm is proposed,and the algorithm flow and steps of the improved Intelligent Water Drops algorithm called CIWD-SQP was given.The proposed algorithm CIWD-SQP and IWD-SQP were simulated with four standard test function.The background and the research status of the electric power economic emission dispatch were expounded and summarized.The mathematical model of the electric power economic emission dispatch problem was elaborated.Meanwhile,particle swarm optimization and differential evolution algorithm,which were often used to solve the problem,were also introduced.Based on the research of Intelligent Water Drops algorithm,a method based on the combining of the Tent chaotic map and the quadratic programming SQP were put forward to electric power economic emission dispatch problem.Finally,the algorithm proposed in this paper was verified by using the test system of 5 units and 10 units.The pollutant emission and the coal consumption of the units were transformed into single objective by using different weight factors,and the constraint of equality was embedded into the overall goal by using penalty factor,which to solve the power environmental economic dispatch problem of the unit.The simulation to solve electric power economic emission dispatch problem was experiment out on Matlab.By comparing with other methods,the results show the feasibility and effectiveness of the proposed method.
