High precision fault location technology has been one of the research focuses of power system.Due to the influence of communication, hardware level and administrative authority,single-end range algorithm is widely used in power system.Single terminals method is not affected by communication conditions, economic conditions, factors such as administrative authority restriction, low cost, high reliability, easy to implement, from the operation maintenance, effective and reliable single-ended range also helps to reduce the maintenance workload of the system. If the accuracy of single-end algorithm can be guaranteed,single-end method is more advantageous than other methods.Based on the analysis of the advantages and disadvantages of different singleended ranging method,is proposed based on improved distributed parameter method of adaptive variable wave identification window single-ended fault location algorithms, this algorithm through to the end system impedance on-line estimation to build improved distributed parameter method, and the amount of power frequency is given according to the reasonable and effective fault distance window, through the window formation wave reflection wave head identification variable scope, improve the antiinterference ability of line Bob identification; The traveling wave method can accurately identify the positioning wave head in a given time window and realize accurate and reliable fault location.Based on the algorithm, the fault location device was developed and applied in 500 kV substation of jiangxi power grid, and the fault monitoring of the interprovincial communication line was carried out.
