In recent years,the output of the car and the per capita holding of the car has been increasing,which has brought the convenience of traffic to the people and also aggravated the environmental noise pollution.With the continuous updating of the car style and the continuous improvement of its performance,more choices are provided to consumers and new requirements for the design of the car are also put forward.In the field of automobile exhaust noise reduction,many scholars have carried on the successful exploration of the muffler design,and the amount of noise reduction has been well controlled.As some subjective requirements are constantly proposed,the improvement of acoustic quality of automobile exhaust muffler has become a hot spot.Based on the transfer matrix method,this paper first derives the transfer matrix of the common noise elimination unit and the connection mode between the muffler units.On this basis,the partition of the complex muffler is divided and modeled,and the influence of the basic combinations of the basic muffle elements and the sound quality is explored.Taking the acoustical quality psychological parameter loudness and sharpness as the comprehensive evaluation index of muffler’s subjective requirement,we preliminarily screened muffler’s basic combinations.Based on the genetic optimization algorithm,optimize the structure parameters of the muffler and complete the optimal design of the muffler based on the sound quality.Finally,the optimum design method of muffler based on sound quality is applied to the exhaust muffler design of the Xie Zhan Machinery Industry company,the structural parameters of the muffler obtained by the optimized design are simulated and analyzed by the acoustic simulation analysis software,and the optimization results are verified.The results show that the optimized muffler satisfies the sound attenuation and improves the sound quality,which indicates that the research in this paper can be applied to the production design of products and has certain practical value.
