The stiffness and bearing capacity of the slit shear wall were reduced in spite of its better ductility. In such a case, one piece of slit is purposely built in the intersection or the centre of slit shear walls, and the steel damper was installed in the slit.In this paper, this new system-slit shear wall with energy dissipation devices is studied. The main contents are:This article introduces the selected topic background and research significance in the first chapter, and the prefabricated reinforced concrete shear wall structure is introduced respectively joint connection status and energy dissipation shear walls. The research status of mild steel damper, and then the damping mechanism of metal damper, characteristics and examples are introduced. Then the article introduces the ideas of building models and the finite element software ADINA and explains the related theories. With finite element software ADINA,the numerical models were presented for mild steel dampers applied in pre-cast fabricated concrete shear wall structures.Out-plane unidirectional loading and low period loading scheme were applied to investigate its deformation process and mechanical performance. Results show that the X-shape mild steel dampers which have the same thickness, length and yielding displacement has more bigger yielding load than S-shape and straight S-shape.The mild steel dampers of X-shape,S-shape and straight S-shape which have the same thickness with smaller length has smaller yielding displacement, larger yielding load and larger initial stiffness.Under the same out-plane displacement, mild steel dampers with larger length will dissipate smaller amount of energy. All the related affecting factors should be taken in to consideration in determining length of mild steel dampers, plus with prototype structural seismic dynamic response analysis.
