The radial shaft face seal is the key seal structure for maintaining the sealing performance of the all-direction propeller.The face seal was influenced by the force load and the thermal load during operation.The force load is mainly affected by the structure of the face seal,and the thermal load is expressed in the temperature field of the face seal.To improve the sealing performance of the face seal,in this paper,based on the previous research,for the end seal structure,the idea of coupling the end face groove type with the waviness and taper is proposed.According to the temperature field,the heat source and other models are optimized.The specific research contents are as follows:Firstly,starting from the groove structure of the face seal,a mathematical model of the three different grooves is established.Based on the groove face,a wave and taper correlation model is established.Based on the hypothesis that the fluid is steady-state,starting from the N-S equations,the Reynolds equation for the face seal is analyzed in the more succinct cylindrical coordinates.Combined with the relevant parameters,the relationship between the sealing structure of the face seal and the sealing performance was revealed from the analysis of the groove structure(number of grooves,number of grooves and helix angle),waviness and taper angle.Secondly,based on the source analysis of the face seal temperature field,the mathematical model of the face seal heat source is established.Combining the mathematical model of heat source,a control model for the temperature field of the face seal was established,and the prerequisite boundary condition model for solving the related temperature field equation was established.Then,the research content of this paper is applied to the face seal of a domestic the all-direction propeller shipbuilding enterprise,and the relationship between the working condition and sealing performance of the all-direction propeller is established,Verify the validity of the study.Finally,the work content of the full text is summarized,and the possible deficiencies in the research and future research directions for the face seal can be prospected.
