Recently,the liquid desiccant air-conditioner(LDAC)has gotten more and more attention.Since the hybrid system is consisted of a desiccant solution cycle and a refrigeration cycle,it can not only effectively adjust the temperature and humidity in a room by controlling them independently,but also decease the power consumption compared with conventional air conditioner.And with the evaporating temperature being elevated above the dew point of air,the power dissipation of compressor decreases significantly and the efficiency of system gets obviously improved.Based on some researches,a new hybrid air conditioning system using the exhaust heat of compressor is introduced in this paper,which combines the liquid desiccant system and small-scale residential air conditioner.And the performance of the new compound system has been evaluated theoretically and experimentally by the present study.The specific work of this paper mainly includes: Though the thermodynamic calculation,the analysis of heat and mass exchange was carried out in different working conditions.And in order to study the operation of the new system in both summer and winter working conditions,an experimental platform was built in an enthalpy difference laboratory.The theoretical analysis shows that,in summer working condition,the evaporating temperature of LDAC system increases to 15?,and the energy consumption of compressor decreases about 22.64% when compared with conventional air conditioner.And the coefficient of performance(COP)of the whole system is calculated to be improved about 4.0,increasing by 35.3%.Based on the theoretical calculation,the experimental analyses of the novel system under summer and winter working conditions shows that the dehumidification and humidification capacity has been widely improved.And the comparisons between the performance of novel and conventional system are made in the form of diagram,which indicates the COP of LDAC system is higher than the traditional one.Researching results of the present study provide a great application potential of this field.
