As a special soil,loess is widely distributed in the central and western regions of China.With the rapid economic development,it is unavoidable to carry out engineering construction in the loess area.Because the loess has natural defects such as high compressibility,collapsibility,and water sensitivity,it leaves certain safety risks in engineering practice.With the current efforts to promote the construction of the New Silk Road Economic Belt,a new round of road traffic facilities will be built in the northwestern region where the loess is widely distributed.This will put forward the service function of the loess in project construction.higher requirement.In addition,it is difficult for the filler of loess roadbed to meet the requirements of strength,deformation and durability of foundations in modern engineering.Therefore,it is necessary to improve the loess so that it can meet the engineering requirements technically and economically.The paper conducts a detailed investigation and analysis on the technical conditions of the X214(Dongzhai Section)road.After investigation and research,the X214(Dongzhai Section)road technology status PCI evaluation results are secondary,and the original road surface can no longer meet the normal use requirements,and follow With the development of economy and the increase of traffic volume,the original road surface cannot meet the demand of the existing traffic volume.Therefore,the original road surface needs to be modified or expanded.Because of the low strength and poor stability of the loess roadbed structure,it is undergoing reforms.It must be dealt with during the expansion so as to avoid damage to the entire road structure after the road has been rebuilt and expanded.The paper first analyzed the strength formation mechanism of lime and cement-improved soil,and passed the compaction test,unconfined compressive strength test,compressive rebound modulus test,CBR test,consolidation test for 2%,3%,The effects of 5%,7%,and 9% doses of lime and 2%,4%,6%,8%,and 10% doses of cement to improve loess were compared.Through comprehensive technical and economic analysis,lime was recommended.A stabilized soil with a dose of 5% was used to treat the expanded loess roadbed.In combination with the X214(Dongzhai Section)road reconstruction project,the construction process,key processes and quality control points of the lime-improved loess were studied.In combination with on-site construction,the mechanical properties such as improved compaction and deflection after the improvement of the loess were examined.Good engineering results have been obtained,and certain data have been accumulated for the road improvement loess improvement roadbed in the future.
