The main power source of vehicle is the fuel,so many researchers are exploring alternative energy of fuel to improve energy density of fuel and the performance of fuel ignition method,and they have made some achievements.These are effective methods to improve the economy,power of vehicle and reduce emissions.In addition,another important factor that affects the economy,power and emission of vehicle is the fuel mixing and combustion process in the engine cylinder.However,the atomization quality of fuel is the key factor that affects the mixing and combustion process of the fuel in the engine cylinder.At present,butanol as a substitute fuel has been paid more and more attention for its excellent characteristics.Gasoline,diesel and butanol all belong to hydrocarbon fuel,but the ignition delay period of hydrocarbon fuel is longer.The ignition delay period is an important parameter to characterize the combustion characteristics of fuel,which is directly related to the ignition reliability and combustion stability of the fuel.Adding ignition accelerator is considered to be an effective way to improve the ignition performance of hydrocarbon fuel,and aluminum powder as a kind of ignition accelerator is attracting more and more attention because of its unique performance.This paper studied the macro and micro spray characteristics of butanol / diesel fuel mixture and the combustion characteristics of the single fuel droplet of nano and micro aluminum powder / butanol blended fuel.The results showed that:(1)the spray cone angle increases with the increase of injection pressure under the same butanol mixing ratio,and the spray cone angle increases with the increase of butanol blending ratio under the same injection pressure.(2)At the same injection pressure,with the increase in the ratio of butanol to diesel fuel,Sauter mean diameter(SMD)of the fuel droplet decreases,divergent boundary decreases and the peak value of size and number distribution offsets to the part of the small diameter size,that is small droplets increase and large particles of fuel decrease.The atomization quality of pure butanol is the best,and the atomization quality of pure diesel is the worst.(3)the butanol fuel to which added aluminum with particle size of 50 ?m and 50 nm willproduce micro explosion effect,reduce the combustion time,and adding nano aluminum powder is more likely to produce micro explosion effect than adding micron aluminum powder.(4)because aluminum powder will precipitate quickly in fuel,it can not satisfy the requirement of actual fuel applied to the engine at present.It is necessary to develop surfactant to prolong the settling time of aluminum powder.
