With the development of science and technology,computational fluid dynamics?CFD?numerical simulation have become an important means for studying vortex-induced vibration.However,most of the current vortex-induced vibration numerical simulation studies are for simple sections such as cylinders and square columns,few studies on bridge sections and the result errors are relatively large.Therefore,the numerical simulation study of typical bridge section vortex-induced vibration is very necessary.This paper used fluent software as research tool,a new mesh generation method Overset mesh was adopted,and a UDF program based Newmark-?method was developed to solve2-D single degree of freedom vertical vortex-induced vibration problem.The work are as following:Firstly,a rectangular section with aspect ratio of 4 was taken as study object.Overset mesh model and traditional mesh model were established to simulate flow past stationary and vortex-induced vibration.Two mesh model numerical results are good agreement with test results,vertifying the accurancy of UDF program;and comparing the calculation results of two mesh models from the Strouhal number?St?,average resistance coefficient?Cd?,vortex locking interval,displacement ratio(ymax/D),can get the numerical simulation results of Overset mesh model is more accurate and reliable than tradition mesh model.Then,the three component force coefficient and vortex-induced vibration numerical simulation of the Huan'an bridge and Shuanghe bridge with box girder and?-type girder were calculated,and compared with wind tunnel test results,got the applicability of overset mesh model to typical bridge sections.Finally,according to the applicability of overset mesh model for box girder section,the effects of aspect ratio b/h and inclined web angle?on the vortex-induced vibration of box section were studied,and its influence law is obtained,can provide reference for future box girder bridge design.
