The inland waterway is an important part of water transport which connects inland and coastal areas.As the ’Twelfth Five Year Plan’ proposed,the investment on inland waterway has increased and the problem of inland waterway has attracted more and more attention.However,with the increase of bridges,larger ships,and the degradation of inland environment,the bridge area has become the bottleneck of the inland shipping hinder the development of inland ship navigation.If any collision accident happens between ships and bridges,the passage of ships and bridges will be affected directly.Therefore,it is necessary to do research of behavioral characteristics for ships navigating in the bridge areas and establish the simulation system to provide technical support for the safety of bridge area navigation.This paper is aimed at analyzing the ship behavior characteristics in the bridge area,and takes ship behavior in Wuhan water area as research object.Ships’ voyage trajectory and the attribute information are extracted by using the ship AIS data.Based on principles of marine navigation in this area,firstly,the characteristics of ship behavior in the bridge area are analyzed;then,characteristics value are extracted;finally,experiment and simulation of the ship behavior are carried out.The main contributions of this work are four-hold:(1)Collecting data of ship behavior in the bridge area.240.000 AIS data are collected from July 2014 to September 2014 with 4 AIS collector in Wuhan Area.By analyzing these AIS data,the ship trajectory is extracted information and finally 189 records of General Cargo Ship are got with the process of association and loss of ships’ static properties,abnormal data processing,etc.(2)Analyzing the characteristics of ship behavior in the bridge area.With AIS trajectory information,the characteristics of uplink and downlink ship behavior in the bridge area are analyzed.According to the associations of trajectory with water area,the characteristics of ship behavior are extracted separately and then classified by typical trajectory.(3)Extracting the characteristics value of ship behavior in the bridge area.Cluster analysis method is employed to analyze 3 kinds of typical trajectories in the different steering regions.And then extracting the characteristics of the 3 kinds separately according to the order of shift.After That,the correlation between trajectories’ features and different steering regions are analyzed.(4)Conducting experiments and simulation of ship behavior in the bridge area.The ship generators are designed based on the real ship traffic statistical data and ship property data,and relevant parameters are set according to the characteristics of ship behavior in the bridge area.The simulation on the platform of VC6.0 and SQL Server with Electronic Channel Chart are conducted and the results are also tested...
